For the fifth consecutive year, Trivium Packaging has been recognized at The Canmaker’s Can of the Year Awards for its advancements in sustainable and functional metal packaging. The awards, one of the longest-standing in the metal packaging industry, celebrate innovation in aluminum and steel packaging.
Trivium won three accolades this year: a Gold award in the Food Two-Piece category and two Bronze awards in the Aerosols and Bottles categories.
The Gold-winning lightweight DRD aluminum can, designed by Trivium Packaging Spain for Coren, replaced a previous steel can for lean pork. This new picnic aluminum can retains Coren’s signature triangular shape while offering sustainability benefits and easy-open technology.
Trivium’s collaboration with Unilever Argentina earned a Bronze in the Aerosols category for the launch of the CIF aerosol disinfectant can. Judges highlighted its vibrant, directly printed graphics and its use of 8–10% recycled aluminum. Produced at a facility certified for energy efficiency and environmental management, the 59×200 aluminum aerosol can marks a significant milestone as the first homecare aerosol introduced in Argentina.
Another Bronze went to Trivium’s partnership with Saúde Pela Água for Brazil’s first aluminum water bottle. Featuring a BPA-free internal coating and made with an advanced aluminum alloy, the bottle aligns with Brazil’s impressive aluminum recycling rate of 98%. Its design draws inspiration from the artesian aquifer that sources the brand’s water.
Entries for the Can of the Year Awards were evaluated on production quality, technological innovation, decoration, usability, and environmental impact. The recognition underscores Trivium’s role in advancing sustainable packaging solutions globally.
