Borouge partners with MBZUAI to drive AI innovation and talent development

Borouge, a petrochemical company specializing in polyolefin solutions, has entered a strategic partnership with the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) to advance artificial intelligence (AI) research, foster innovation, and offer student internship opportunities.

 

The collaboration aims to bolster AI and digitalization initiatives at Borouge, supporting industries such as energy, healthcare, mobility, advanced packaging, and agriculture. The partnership will leverage research and product development to drive efficiency and sustainability while providing students with hands-on training through internships, workshops, and seminars on industry advancements.

 

Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, CEO of Borouge, emphasized the transformative potential of AI, stating: “AI is a powerful catalyst for accelerating Borouge’s growth and transforming our operations. We are pleased to collaborate with MBZUAI to support the next generation of AI leaders as they design solutions for the future of the petrochemical industry.”

The three-year agreement aligns with Borouge’s AI, digitalization, and technology (AIDT) strategy, which has already delivered $215 million in value creation during the first half of 2024. Through this initiative, Borouge aims to enhance its operational efficiency, sustainability efforts, and industry impact while nurturing the next generation of AI talent.
