Koenig & Bauer and ACTEGA extend partnership for inline finishing

ACTEGA products in daily use at Koenig & Bauer’s customer center bring together (L-R) Mario Hesse, Björn Fandrich, Dirk Winkler, and Jan Franz Allerkamp at the Rapida 106 X.

Koenig & Bauer and ACTEGA have renewed their partnership for an additional three years, continuing their collaboration to advance high-quality inline finishing technologies. The partnership, established in 2016, has played a pivotal role in enhancing finishing processes for the print and packaging industries.

The extended agreement, effective from November 1, focuses on several key areas, including the provision of starter kits for new Rapida presses, joint quality assurance efforts, and the ongoing development of coatings and finishing solutions. The partnership also involves combined marketing activities such as trade fair presentations, user events, and print demonstrations, with a shared commitment to driving innovation.

“Extending the partnership agreement allows us to continue our successful cooperation. Together, we are defining future standards in production speeds and finishing options for high-quality packaging and other print products,” said Jan Franz Allerkamp, head of Paper & Board at ACTEGA.

Dirk Winkler of Koenig & Bauer and Jan Franz Allerkamp of ACTEGA (R-L) reaffirm their commitment to a three-year extension of their development partnership.

ACTEGA’s coatings are integral to Koenig & Bauer’s high-performance sheetfed offset presses, including Rapida presses equipped with inline coating facilities. These coatings are used extensively at Koenig & Bauer’s demo center, ensuring continuous quality control and optimization for cutting-edge finishing processes.

Dirk Winkler, head of process and print technology at Koenig & Bauer Sheetfed, noted, “Our cooperation with ACTEGA has allowed us to advance a range of finishing technologies over the past years. I look forward to continuing this process, which directly benefits our users.”

With the demand for high-quality packaging and sophisticated visual and tactile effects rising globally, the partnership underscores the importance of innovation in sustainable and advanced finishing solutions. The renewed collaboration promises to set new standards in the print industry.
