Ferrum Packaging AG and KHS GmbH have announced the acquisition of H.F. Meyer Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG, effective January 1, 2025. The merger aims to enhance expertise in canning technology while preserving H.F. Meyer’s independence under the Ferrum Group umbrella.

H.F. Meyer, known for its specialized canning technology, including can turners, rinsers, and vacuum bridges, will contribute its expertise to complement Ferrum’s and KHS’s capabilities. “H.F. Meyer’s special expertise gives us a significant wealth of know-how that we’ll be able to apply to joint further developments,” said Beat Bühlmann, Chairman of Ferrum Group’s Board of Directors.

The acquisition will establish a competence center for canning technology focused on advancing innovative systems. “The aim is to supply the best canning lines in the world. By collaborating with H.F. Meyer and Ferrum, the efficiency and quality of our plant machinery will continuously improve,” noted Martin Resch, Managing Director of KHS Group.

Based in Schleswig-Holstein, with an additional facility in Bavaria, H.F. Meyer employs approximately 100 people and has built a solid reputation in the beverage industry. The company will continue to operate independently, ensuring uninterrupted service to its customers. Bühlmann assured, “We’ll remain a reliable partner to our customers, maintaining our commitments with the usual quality.”

The merger highlights a strategic step in integrating technological expertise and pooling resources to meet evolving industry demands while offering tailored solutions from a single source.
