The 28th edition of Beautyworld Middle East officially opened yesterday at the Dubai World Trade Centre, featuring over 2,000 exhibitors and expecting more than 70,000 attendees from across the globe. This premier beauty and wellness trade show runs from October 28 to 30 and emphasizes sustainability, particularly in packaging.
Her Excellency Hessa Bu Humaid, Minister of Community Development, inaugurated the event, noting, “Beautyworld Middle East has become a highlight of the calendar in the region and provides an educational, inspirational, and community-led meeting point for beauty professionals.”
As the Middle East beauty market continues to grow, driven by a diverse population and a young urban middle class, the emphasis on eco-friendly packaging has gained momentum. A recent Kantar report revealed that non-recyclable packaging is the top concern among consumers in the beauty sector, prompting brands to adopt greener solutions.
David Vercruysse, President of Managed Companies Vertical at Chalhoub Group, highlighted this shift, stating, “The clean beauty market has become a fast-growing category and is redefining the beauty industry in the region.” Companies are increasingly incorporating post-consumer recycled materials into their products, with many introducing refillable options to minimize waste.
Beautyworld Middle East showcases this trend with dedicated segments like “Clean + Conscious,” which features brands that prioritize sustainability. This year’s event includes an innovative new area called “Beauty Beginnings,” highlighting emerging brands debuting in the MENA region, focusing on sustainable practices.
Ravi Ramchandani, Show Manager at Messe Frankfurt Middle East, added, “We believe Beautyworld Middle East offers the perfect opportunity for brands to showcase their commitment to sustainability and innovation. This year’s event is a celebration of emerging trends that reflect the evolving needs of consumers.”
With its strategic focus on sustainability and innovation, Beautyworld Middle East 2024 is not only a marketplace but also a platform for vital discussions on the future of beauty in the region, setting the stage for more eco-conscious practices moving forward.
