Badael opens second manufacturing facility in Jeddah amid growing consumer demand

Badael’s new manufacturing facility in Jeddah, designed to enhance production of DZRT tobacco-free pouches.

Badael, a company under Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has opened a new manufacturing facility at the Modon—Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones—in Asfan, Jeddah. The facility features a nicotine powder mixing unit, a research and development lab, a quality control lab, and a second high-speed production line aimed at increasing the supply of DZRT tobacco-free pouches, addressing the rising market demand over the past year.

Chief Executive Officer of Badael, Tolga Sezer, emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to public health, stating, “We are committed to our mission to help 1 million smokers quit smoking by 2028. The inauguration of our new manufacturing site and the line in Jeddah is a testament to Badael’s steadfast dedication to meeting the demand for our Saudi-made product, DZRT.” Sezer highlighted that the facility would utilize cutting-edge manufacturing processes that meet global standards for nicotine pouch production while adhering to strict quality controls and sustainable practices.

The new site supports Badael’s broader goals within Saudi Arabia’s quality-of-life program, offering less harmful alternatives to smoking and promoting healthier lifestyles. Additionally, the expansion aligns with the kingdom’s economic diversification efforts, providing local job opportunities, enhancing healthcare savings, and contributing to sustainability initiatives.
