ProAmpac introduces curbside recyclable packaging for tissue products

ProAmpac’s new RP-1050 fiber-based packaging offers a curbside recyclable alternative to traditional plastic films for tissue products.

ProAmpac has unveiled its new fiber-based ProActive Recyclable RP-1050 packaging, designed to replace traditional plastic film overwraps with a curbside recyclable option. Initially launched in North America, the product has proven successful and is now also available in Europe with local manufacturing capabilities.

The RP-1050 is aimed at providing a sustainable alternative to the commonly used plastic films for tissue products, including bathroom tissue, paper towels, and feminine care items. “RP-1050 is a prime example of a sustainable product with multi-regional applications,” said Jim Tierney, vice president of product development at ProAmpac. He highlighted that the packaging features high water resistance and strong seal characteristics suitable for high-speed form-fill-seal processes.

The packaging is available in both natural kraft and bleached versions, utilizing ProAmpac’s high-definition flexographic printing to enhance brand visibility. This development underscores ProAmpac’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the packaging sector.
