Beta Glass and Wecyclers launch cullet trucks to boost recycling efforts in Nigeria

Olawale Adebiyi, CEO of Wecyclers, and Darren Bennett-Voci, CEO of Beta Glass, sign the partnership deal.

Beta Glass PLC, a member of the Frigoglass Group and a prominent manufacturer of glass packaging in West and Central Africa, has partnered with Wecyclers, a Lagos-based waste management company, to introduce a fleet of cullet trucks aimed at enhancing recycling efforts and promoting sustainability across Nigeria.

The launch event, held on May 22, 2024, at the Beta Glass headquarters in Lagos, marks a significant step towards environmental responsibility. The new trucks will collect and transport cullet, the term for recycled bottles and jars, from various collection points to Beta Glass production facilities. This initiative aims to increase the volume of recycled glass used in manufacturing, reducing the need for virgin raw materials and minimizing the environmental footprint.
