DUPLO SEIKO acquires MULTIGRAF in Dusseldorf, Germany, boosting innovation in cutting and multifinishing solutions.

DUPLO SEIKO, a leading member of the DUPLO GROUP, Japan, has acquired Swiss-based MULTIGRAF in a move aimed at bringing innovative solutions to the industry. DUPLO SEIKO, known for its forward-thinking mindset, started as a pioneer in stencil duplicators 50 years ago and has since become a global leader in automated cutting solutions.

The acquisition of MULTIGRAF, a key manufacturer of multifinishers, is set to strengthen DUPLO SEIKO’s position in cutting and multifinishing solutions. The companies have had a longstanding partnership, with MULTIGRAF celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Hideki Hashiguchi, CEO, and President of DUPLO SEIKO, expressed his confidence in the integration, stating, “We are honored to welcome MULTIGRAF into the DUPLO group. I am confident this integration will enable both DUPLO and MULTIGRAF to accelerate future technological developments as well as providing stronger support to our customers.”

MULTIGRAF will continue to operate under its name and remain based in Switzerland. Robert Barrer, Chairman of MULTIGRAF, sees the acquisition as an exciting new start, saying, “The acquisition of MULTIGRAF by DUPLO SEIKO is an exciting new start for all. My father founded MULTIGRAF, and I am looking forward to seeing where the future takes us.”

The acquisition was announced at the drupa 2024 exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany, highlighting the importance of this strategic move for both companies.
