Algerian dairy goes green

SIG’s latest water saving technology

Algerian dairy producer Tchin Lait continues to prioritise the environmental impact of its products and filling lines, its focus is to reduce impact across its entire value chain, starting with its filling lines.

By utilising SIG’s water-saving technology, Tchin Lait could reduce water pressure, saving up to 3,950sq m per year. “When we decided to make sustainable efforts to reduce water and waste, we asked SIG for its latest water-saving technology” said Brahim Rachef of Tchin Lait. “We witnessed a reduction in our water waste by 50%. “We then decided to install this technology on our filling machine from SIG.”

Abdelghany Eladib, SIG’s President and General Manager, MEA, added: “This is the next step on our Way Beyond Good journey. We continue to make our filling machines as efficient as possible and we are confident our efforts with Tchin Lait will serve in reducing the impact on the environment and will positively make a change.” In the past two years, SIG’s technical update kits have helped its customers save more than 115 tonnes in CO2 emissions and 25,000sq m of water.
