Stora Enso is investing in the future of the planet – via environmentally sound upgrades for its pulp and production sites.
The manufacturer of pulp, paper and other forest products will pour millions into improving the competitiveness and environmental performance of the Anjala-Ingerois production site, and a further €26m in modernising the pulp production at Nymölla in Sweden, making it more sustainable for the future.
The collective goals are to reduce the emissions and to ensure flexible use of different fuel mixtures in heat production. The project at Anjala-Ingerois is planned to start during 2021 and to be completed in 2023.
It will be the second step of modernisation at Nymölla with the objective being to increase the annual softwood pulp production capacity from approximately 220,000 tonnes to 245,000 tonnes. The modernisation is planned to begin this year and will be completed by the third quarter of 2022.
Kati ter Horst, Executive Vice President, Paper division at Stora Enso, said: “These investments will improve the competitiveness of both sites and at the same time contribute to our sustainability performance.”
