Packaging – along with multichannel publishing and green printing – will be a key area at the next Drupa tradeshow, in Dusseldorf from 31 May to 10 June 2016.
As one of the edition’s ‘highlight issues’, packaging, including digital label printing, has been picked out for special activities such as separate events, Drupa’s organisers announced during Interpack, in Dusseldorf on 8-14 May.
Drupa, which takes place every four years, is the leading global event for the printing industry.
The next edition of the trade fair is being marketed as a ‘relaunch’ under the slogan “touch the future”.
In a presentation at Interpack, a team from Messe Dusseldorf revealed that the upcoming Drupa will spotlight emerging technologies such as functional printing, printed electronics and 3D printing.
The show organisers also underscored opportunities in “digital printing, package and label printing as well as… the industrial production segment”.
“Together with our partners, the VDMA, our member companies Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, Koenig & Bauer, Kolbus, Leonhard Kurz, manroland web systems, Polar-Mohr, technotrans, Voith, Windmöller & Hölscher – to name but a few – and global players such as Bobst, Canon, EFI, Gallus, Hewlett-Packard, Ricoh and Xerox we have developed the concept for the Drupa’s re-launch,” said Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, president and CEO of Messe Dusseldorf.
