Press will debut at Drupa with sleeves developed with Rossini to speed up changeovers
Italy: New sleeves developed by Omet in collaboration with Rossini will improve print quality, performance, and efficiency with the Italian manufacturer’s latest press, according to Omet.
The Varyflex V2 Offset 850 will be officially presented at Drupa 2016, on 31 May to 10 June, a debut Omet claims will firmly imposes its presence in the packaging machinery market.
Omet describes the new Varyflex V2 offset 850 as a true breakthrough in printing for packaging printing and the result of lengthy research and innovations developed by Omet with prestigious partners.
The design of the new Varyflex V2 Offset 850 is intended as a solution to the optimisation of performance in job changeover by overcoming difficulties from the large size and weight of sleeves and consequent time required to perform such operations.
Omet Research and Development Department carried out analysis and experimentation with Rossini Spa, a leading company in the production of sleeves with more than 80 years of experience in the industry as a continuous investor in innovation.
Omet and Rossini’s partnership was geared to reducing the weight of the sleeve and achieving improved print quality. The two companies’ know-how in their fields has informed the development of lighter sleeves that can be more easily handled during job changeover. Their composition from new materials also ensure better print quality than any other technologies currently on the market, according to Omet.
Omet describes Rossini’s Honyalu solution as absolutely new in the field. Honeycomb material between base and aluminium tubing makes the sleeve lighter and its open cell structure absorbs vibrations and reduces bounce during printing.
But the sleeves’ design takes into account economic considerations as well as print quality and job changeover times. The hybrid solution, with blanket sleeve in fibreglass and plate sleeves in Honyalu, reduces line costs by exploiting the best properties of both materials during the printing process.
Omet is participating at Drupa at booth D90 in Hall 3, where the V2 Offset 850 will be shown together with the improved job changeover speed of the new sleeves.
