H.B. Fuller opens packaging centre

H.B. Fuller has opened a $1m Packaging Center of Excellence at its North American headquarters in St Paul’s, Minnesota.

Officially inaugurated on 29 April, the centre will be open year-round to showcase the firm’s engineering and technical services.

H.B. Fuller hopes its new packaging centre will underscore the vital role in packaging of adhesives, which risks being overlooked as they can make up only 3% of a pack's cost.
H.B. Fuller hopes its new packaging centre will underscore the vital role in packaging of adhesives, which risks being overlooked as they can make up only 3% of a pack’s cost.

The centre is equipped to address firms’ adhesive needs across various applications, substrates and environmental conditions, said H.B. Fuller.

“This centre has been created to drive the industry forward and help customers protect their assets and their brands as well as find new ways to reduce costs,” said Steve Ringsdore, vice-president, Americas Packaging and Converting, at H.B. Fuller.

“But it also will be used to provide comprehensive training for our technical and sales team so that their market expertise delivers quantifiable value to our customers.”

Although adhesives can be critical to the consumer’s experience and to brand reputation and packaging design, they can be overlooked as they represent less than 3% of the cost of packaging, according to H.B. Fuller.
